Breaking Barriers
The availability and disposal of sanitary napkins for women during their menstruation have always been an issue and many have not dared to address this issue since most of us believe that these are to be kept in private.
As a solution to this issue, sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators worth Rs. 98,000 were installed in 25 educational institutions in the constituency. This project is a step ahead in changing the stereotype thinking of people about women and has created more awareness of hygiene and health among the school girls.
People talk about India’s past. But it is time to examine the country’s present situation. Are women more secure, safe and healthy now ? Are they given the required treatment and care they deserve? Women should learn to be responsible for their hygiene and health. Projects like ‘Breaking Barriers’ are the stepping stones for the well-being of young girls,”
