Arike
As the word “Arike” connotes, a people’s representative is someone who has to be close to the people of all levels and thus close to their hearts. This unique programme “ Arike” is an attempt to be close to the people at the grassroots level in the constituency and also the larger section of people across the state. Development of the constituency can be made possible only through politician – citizen partnership. The real story of the people lies in the household and the immediate surroundings they dwell in. Most of the problems faced by the people in their immediate surroundings are not being addressed or resolved due to the lack of proper systems to put it forward in front of the authorities. Arike provides a 24 x 7 helpline number in which the citizen can call up and raise a complaint / suggestion or opinion which will be recorded as a voice clip and listed in a portal powered by Phonetovote, a Hyderabad based software company. The office follows up the matter and finds a solution in coordination with the authorities. This system has been a tool for the public and the political activists to bring many issues concerning the people to MLA’s attention and got addressed.
There has been a tremendous response to this programme in which the people have raised many personal, developmental, local issues and constructive suggestions. We have been able to find a solution to many of the issues. Many such complaints and suggestions have been raised in the floor of the house as questions and submissions.
